Long weekends in the Caribbean Netherlands
Your working week and workplace closures
In the Caribbean Netherlands, one long weekend is left in 2026 with no leave: Christmas Day and Boxing Day (December 25 to 27). Best value: take December 28 to December 31 off (4 days) for ten days in a row around Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

How the planner works
Each row starts from a holiday that is a day off in the Caribbean Netherlands holiday calendar we use, with its substitute day where the calendar gives one for a holiday on a weekend. It takes Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, as in the Caribbean Netherlands. If you work other days, or your workplace closes for a stretch, set them under “Your working week and workplace closures”: the rows, the leave budget and the calendar file then count leave only on days you would work. A holiday on a day you do not work adds no day off here; some employers give another day instead. The suggested leave days join the holiday to the nearest weekend or other holiday, using at most four days of leave, and the row shows the option with the most days off for each day of leave.
The planner counts the official holidays the three islands share. Each island also has two of its own that it does not count: Rincon Day (April 30) and Bonaire Day (September 6) on Bonaire, Emancipation Day (July 1) and Statia Day (November 16) on Sint Eustatius, and Carnival Monday (August 3 in 2026) and Saba Day (the first Friday of December) on Saba. When one of them falls next to a weekend, your break is longer than shown.
Employers, schools and regional calendars can add or move days. Check your own working pattern before booking.
