How this count works

For times only, choose whether the end is on the same or the next day. Break minutes are subtracted from the full interval. Decimal hours divide the remaining minutes by the minutes in an hour.

Times-only mode measures a clock span. Use dates and a timezone for an interval across daylight saving time. A repeated local time needs the earlier or later occurrence selected.

A worked example

From 9:45 PM to 1:15 AM the next day is 3.5 hours. Removing a 15-minute break leaves 3 hours 15 minutes, or 3.25 decimal hours.
